Minimizing Fears in Early Childhood

Tuesday October 27th at 7:00 pm

All young children experience fear or anxiety at some time.  These can include separation anxiety, fear of the dark, new people or animals.

There is much that parents can do to help children learn coping skills to overcome fears and to feel more free to explore the world around them.

Join us for a Brown Bag Lunch this Monday (10/19) or Thursday (10/22) at 12:00 noon.  Pack a lunch for you and your child and enjoy the playgrounds with your friends from Promises!

We had a great time in Music and Chapel this week!  Be sure to ask your child about our special friends Ms. Judy (our Music teacher) and Max (our church mouse).

The Yellow class enjoyed Garden's Garden today.  The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle is a wonderful way to learn about being nice and kind as well as learning about the wonderful animals found in nature.

The Rainbow Class is enjoying their first day of preschool!

It's been a fabulous first day of school!

We enjoyed meeting all of the students at Open House on Friday.  We are looking forward to the first day of preschool!

After weeks of cleaning, painting, waxing floors and preparing the classrooms we are ready to welcome our students!  We look forward to seeing everyone at Parent Orientation tonight and Student Open House on Friday!  It's going to be a wonderful year.

Camp Hanover Day Camp is now available for rising kindergartners!!

Camp Hanover Day camp is bringing the awesome Camp Hanover experience to TCPC August 10^th -14^th 9:00am-3:00pm each day for the low cost of $115.00 per camper.  Day Camp is now available for rising kindergartners through rising 6^th graders.  This is a change!  If you have a rising kindergartner who thinks outdoor adventures are awesome and is looking for a fabulous way to spend a week with great friends, please register them! 

At Day Camp, energetic Camp Hanover counselors (including our own Heather) will come to Three Chopt Presbyterian Church to lead fun games, fantastic crafts, nature activities, songs, and Bible stories.  Special events for the week include water day, archery and a cook out!

It's been a great week for outside play!

Thank you to everyone who brought in supplies for CARITAS!  We will continue  collecting through the end of this week.  We are still in need of deodorant, combs, toothbrushes and dental floss.

The pre-kindergarten students enjoyed learning all about school bus safety today.

Thanks to all of our Moms for spending time in the classrooms with us today.  It was truly magical!

Lots of great cooperative play was happening in the Purple classroom today!

We are celebrating 100 days of preschool!

Today the Blue and Purple classes learned about the forward motion called thrust using balloon rockets.  The different size balloons created varying amounts of thrust.  Thanks to Greg and Jen Stiles for leading this fun experiment!

It was a blessing to have our pre-kindergarten students share their Chapel songs with the church's Bible Blazers group!

This month the students will be learning about Ezra Jack Keats in the Media Center.  Ezra was interested in art from a very young age and first started illustrating books written by other authors.  He then started writing his own books to illustrate and is probably best known for Snowy Day.  More information  about Keats can be found at ezra-jack-keats.org.
 

We are enjoying the beautiful spring days!

Thanks to all of our wonderful dads who spent their lunch hour at Promises yesterday.  It was a very special time.  Thank you to Chris Campbell for providing the musical entertainment!

The children loved "Animal Tales" and "Little Red Hen's Wacky Week" today!  Thank you Kaydee Puppets for a great show.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the International Family Fun Night and Silent Auction!  A good time was had by all and we raised over $900 for the new playground equipment!
